How it works

Date: Sunday September 7, 2025, during the usual opening hours of the individual sites.

Who gets in for free: all. Some temporary exhibitions or special spaces may have different rules.

Access: reservations are usually not needed for state sites (capacity counts). For places in high demand, it is best to arrive early in the morning.

  • Gallerie d'Italia - Naples (Palazzo Piacentini, Toledo Street): often free admission FIRST SUNDAY. In the collection, masterpieces from the 19th century and the famous Martyrdom of Saint Ursula Caravaggio's.
  • Mother Museum: calendar of guided tours and weekend activities, with possible freebies on specific initiatives.

  1. Coming soon: For Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum and outdoor sites, the influx is high; access is regulated by capacity.

  4. Equipment: hat, water and comfortable shoes for long routes with little shade.
